GO Battle League Leaderboards are finally coming to Pokémon GO!
Niantic just announced a new leaderboard feature AND GO Battle Day: Marill which are Set to launch right after GBL switches from Ultra League to Master League.
The leaderboard feature will allow Trainers to see the top 500 Battlers in GO Battle League! But wait, that’s not all! GO Battle Day: Marill was also announced, giving Trainers the opportunity to battle up 100 (YES, ONE HUNDRED) times in a single day. Let’s get it on!
For those who are avid #Battlers and #GirlsThatPvP…or just love the idea of competition, your time to shine is now! The top Battlers from around the world will be showcased on the Pokémon GO Leaderboard. Here’s how it will work:
- Top 500 Battlers in the world will have their Trainer nicknames, teams, ranks, ratings, and total matches listed.
- Rankings are based on the previous day’s in-game ratings for Trainers Rank 7 and up.
- The leaderboard is scheduled to update between approximately 8:00 p.m. UTC and 10:00 p.m. UTC every day. Note that leaderboard updates may be delayed by things such as maintenance.
- Trainers with active disciplinary action or inappropriate Trainer nicknames will be excluded without prior notice. We sure hope this doesn’t include our favorite Trainer names like HoldinMacGroin and McShinyBalls, but there is that possibility.

Get Your Tappin' Finger Ready
We feel the leaderboard is going to be one of the biggest features to drop in a long time. Who doesn’t want to try and make that Top-500 list? And it’s pure speculation on our part, but maybe, just mayyyyybe, this leaderboard system can lead towards Niantic officially crowning a World Champion? Only time will tell!
Also, 100 battles in a day! Let’s take a second and put that into perspective. When we stream 25 battles on Twitch, the stream usually lasts around 2-hours. Basic math tells us that 4 times that… you will be looking at about 8-hours of tappin’ and swirlin’ that screen folk. Stretch them fingers, it’s gonna be a long day!
