Savings Breakdown

Special Box

The Special Box is what it generally is…special, and we don’t exactly mean that in a “this is a special gift that you must have” sort of way. Per the usual, the main issue with determining the value of the Special Box lies with the 30 Poké Balls, as their worth is really up to the eye of the beholder. Sure, you could determine the price per ball based on what’s in the shop but, we at G2G do not feel that value is completely accurate due to the various ways you can obtain Poké Balls…most of which are free.

Keeping that in mind, 30 Poké Balls, 2 Premium Battle Passes, 4 Super Incubators, and 2 Incense yields a value of nearly 1063 PokéCoins. That’s a savings of approximately 520 PokéCoins (appx. 55%). Honestly, if you are on a budget but still need some Incubators for these Strange Eggs, the savings really aren’t half bad. No pun intended.

Ultra Box

The Ultra Box seems to be ultra exciting as it has the coveted the Premium Battle Passes, Star Pieces, Super Incubators, and Incense! Appealing to those who are able to SAFELY and LEGALLY venture out to participate in in-person Raids. We must not forget these passes can also be utilized by Battlers for the Premium path of battling. So, what says this box in savings? Let’s find out.

With 4 Star Pieces, 16 Battle Passes, 8 Super Incubators, and 4 Incense, you are looking at a value of 3,525 PokéCoins. Meaning, you’re saving approximately 2045 PokéCoins (or appx. 58%) by purchasing this bundle. Wow! That boost in the number of Super Incubators is what makes this box extremely balanced compared to all others.

Adventure Box

Oh Adventure Box…you’ve only ever had one job, and that job is to appeal to those who desire to hatch, hatch, and hatch some more! With the latest release of Strange Eggs, and the current bonus of 1/4 hatch distance, we can see why this box would appeal to many Trainers. However, the standard Egg Pool could really use a shakeup, so there are drawbacks. Anywho, on to the math.

The Adventure Box holds 4 Star Pieces, 20 Super Incubators, 4 Egg Incubators, and 4 Incense. A total box value of 4,925 PokéCoins! You will be saving 3445 PokéCoins by purchasing this box rather than each item individually, and it will save you nearly 70%. Holy savings Zubat!! Maybe I should get one just in case we do see an Egg pool shakeup soon. That’s some serious savings!

Deal or No Deal?

Now down to the matter at hand in this box sale review. Are these boxes good deals? When you look at the overall numbers, HECK YEAH they are! I mean, each box has a savings of over 50%. Folks, that doesn’t happen often, and honestly, it’s quite refreshing to see, especially in these times.

Yes, by looking at each item individually, you could say, “well, we’ve had more Premium Passes in the past,” and you are correct. But, as we can only assume due to the pandemic, Niantic has taken a look at creating more box content balance that offers quite the percentage in savings. That’s our take on this box sale anyways. The option to spend, or not to spend, is all up to you Trainers. Best of luck out there, and stay safe!
