Well Trainers, Party Hat Gengar and Party Hat Nidorino are set to make their appearance in Tier 4 (Gengar) and Tier 2 (Nidorino) Raids this Sunday.
Not only will this be your first chance as these particular Pokémon in these festive new party hats, but their shiny variants will be available as well! I mean, who doesn’t need another costumed Pokémon, are we right? Not to mention, you get to do FIVE of them on the house!
Anywho, let’s check out the details of the event:

Event Box Mini Analysis
A new Event Box has popped up in the in-game shop. Full of Premium Raid Passes and a couple of other goodies, let’s take a quick peek at the overall savings.
Event | Event (x3) | Ultra | |
Raid Passes | 6 | 18 | 16 |
Lure Modules | 2 | 6 | 5 |
Incense | 2 | 6 | – |
Super Incubators | – | – | 5 |
Star Pieces | – | – | 3 |
Total Items | 10 | 30 | 29 |
Cost | 480 | 1440 | 1480 |
Savings | 46.37% | 46.37% | 53.39% |
As you can see in the table above, the Event Box isn’t a bad deal at all! Don’t let the percentages fool you. The inclusion of the Super Incubators in the Ultra Box, bloats the numbers just a bit. (Thank you Kristy for that tidbit!)
Overall, if you were to purchase for Raid Passes alone, purchasing 3 Event boxes clearly gets you more passes than the Ultra at a cheaper price. It’s clearly what you are in need of in this particular case! Good luck Trainers!
Raid Day Goals
With this Raid Day being sort of repetitive for most who play the game (Gengar having had a Raid Day), we thought we’d encourage those not so excited Trainers with the following incentives so they could help others who might not have a Gengar with Lick or Psychic, or a shiny Nidorino:
MOAR SHINY: Who doesn’t love shinies? Sure, you may have 10…but, these will also have Party Hats, and just think of the trades you can make for what you need.
RARE CANDY: Since the Rare Candy nerf was reversed, time to store and hoard! Rare Candy is becoming almost as important as that dust these days with specific Pokémon.
TRADE FODDER: There are multitudes of Trainers who have yet to obtain a shiny Nidorino or one of the Exclusive Move Gengars, let alone its shiny variant. Let’s spend time, and a few free raid passes to help these new friends out.
EX-RAIDS: Use this time to try and trigger Ex-Raids in your area. Not only is this a win-win for your new friends to possibly get a pass, but that just means more Regiggity for you!
