Trainers! Niantic Social is in the process of officially launching with Trainers from all over the world, reporting they now have access to Niantic’s latest in-game feature. Don’t have it yet? Fear not you will soon, as this appears to be rolling out in waves at a fast pace.
Everything you can do
Let’s take a look at all the features Niantic Social has to offer.
As you can see, all Niantic games can now be linked through the same login method. If you play other Niantic games, you can now view your level (as well as your friends’ levels) within each game. There is also a toggle to turn on/off sharing your online status with your friends. This could come in handy say… if your boss is on your friends list. *glances over at MT
You may be asking yourself, does the feature work with a Niantic Kids account? As a matter of fact, it does. However, parents are still in full control of their child’s account, thus having the ability to turn on/off this feature for young Trainers.
Let's Get Social! Safely
Let’s face it, everything these days is linked, so why not your Niantic games as well? Granted, this is more a quality of life feature than something that will change the game, but we feel its a neat addition and have a feeling most people will enjoy it. Whether you choose to let your status be known, or want to stay entirely off the grid, you can do either in this feature. Let us know what you think in the comments or on Twitter.
