Gastly Community Day is this Sunday, July 19th, so we’ve put together this Infopedia to help you on your six-hour adventure with the Gas Pokémon!

Gastly Community Day Bonuses
This months’ bonuses include the coveted 1/4 Hatch Distance!
On Gastly Community Day, 1/4 Hatch Distance will be active for the whole 6-hour window! We recommend stocking up on Star Pieces, Incubators, and be sure to set them, so you don’t forget them! (set the full day’s worth if you plan on playing that much.
Below, you can find a handy Hatch-Distance-chart in which you can check the distance Eggs will take to hatch during CD, as well has some useful tips and tricks. Sit tight, cause your dust will skyrocket!

Hatch Tips & Tricks
- It’s important to note that the 1/4 distance does not compound with the current 1/2 distance bonus due to COVID.
- Incubate your Eggs AFTER CD started.
- Try to collect as many 10km Eggs as possible before CD to maximize your Stardust gain.
- Run a Lucky Egg + Star Piece for the full 6 hours if possible.
3-HOUR INCENSE
Instead of Lure Modules, Incense will last for three hours during Gastly Community Day hours.
Make sure to activate your Incense after the event starts, otherwise, it will last for the regular 1 hour instead of 3 hours.
If you evolve your Haunter between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (local time), Gengar will learn the Community Day Exclusive Move Shadow Punch, a Ghost-type Charge Attack!
Note: You’ll be able to obtain the Exclusive Move up to 2 hours after boosted spawns end.

Shadow Punch PvE Analysis
Gengar with Shadow Punch in PvE, is pretty much a non-starter. Shadow Ball will always be the Charge Move of choice in Raids. You could use Shadow Claw in a TGR battle, but the frailty of Gengar will be the main drawback here.

Shadow Punch Gengar in PvP is why it came in second place during the Community Day voting period. It takes Gengar from being something you might only use as a spice pick, to something that will probably be a staple of your PvP lineups. We highly recommend giving Shadow Punch Gengar a try the next time you load up GBL.

Snapshot Surprises
Make sure to bring your camera, Trainers. On Gastly Community Day, taking Snapshots might reward you with a surprise! If no changes have been made since Abra and Weedle CD, you’ll be photobombed by Gastly up to 5 times, and you might encounter a Shiny Gastly!
