Big news today, Trainers! Pokémon GO version 0.159.0 has begun to roll out. Data miners have already been hard at work, tearing it apart and have found all sorts of exciting tidbits! Galarian forms, Team GO Rocket Invasions, and much more! Let’s take a look, shall we?
None of this information has been confirmed by Niantic, everything in this article should be taken with extreme caution, as some of it likely will change before becoming live.
*Note – We will only take a look at the most interesting of the information released today
Galarian Forms have been added! Start the hype train to Galar! The following Pokémon now have Galarian Forms added into the code.
Surprising, but perhaps not shocking with the upcoming release of Sword and Shield. These forms seem to have been added in the same manner as the Alolan Forms previously.
TEAM GO ROCKET
TONS of new information concerning Team GO Rocket was found. Let’s take a closer look at the more interesting pieces of information.
CLIFF, SIERRA, ARLO, GIOVANNI, & DECOYS?
Multiple mentions of Giovanni are rampant throughout this data mine, leading us to believe that his arrival in-game is imminent. Also mentioned are Cliff, Sierra, and Arlo. Decoys have also been found in the code! What this means for sure, we will have to wait and see!
A large amount of code was found for “Invasions.” We guess that Invasions will have similar mechanics to that of Raids. Just like Raids, it seems they will be time-locked, meaning they will have a beginning and end time every day, and not run 24/7 as Team GO Rocket Grunts do. They will also seemingly have a minimum player level, also like Raids.
Also of much interest, code for “Rocket Radar” has been found. From what we can tell, Trainers will have to collect “fragments”. Once enough fragments have been collected, you will then be able to assemble the “Rocket Radar” equipable item. What exactly the Rocket Radar does is still yet to be seen, but we guess that it will, in some way, lead to Giovanni.
Two new moves have been added in Flying Press and Aura Sphere.
Flying Press is an interesting move to have been added since, in the Main Series, it is Hawlucha’s signature move, and we are a long way off from Gen VI.
Aura Sphere is a Fighting-type move that can be learned by a handful of Pokémon in the Main Series games. Our off-the-wall guess would be that it could possibly be a move for Lucario one day. (PLEASE)
