Trainers, Niantic has just released the Pokémon GO events schedule for April 2020!
With the COVID-19 Crisis, this month will be quite a bit different and a little less jam-packed than previous months…but don’t worry, there is plenty of excitement in store!
Save Shadow Entei from Giovanni no, this isn’t a mistake
April Research Breakthrough:
Alolan Exeggutor w/ bonus StardustLandorus makes land-fall in GBL and five-star raids
Pokémon Spotlight Hour and Mystery Bonus Hour
Also, a reminder that Niantic is going to incredible limits in order to provide exclusive individualized gameplay to all trainers. Be sure to check out our full-article on that announcement, here.
April will give us more time to track down Team GO Rocket and save Shadow Entei from Giovanni! The Shadowy Threat Grows will reward you with Shadow Entei upon defeating Giovanni. There will not be a new story line for April and if you have already nabbed your Entei, you will have to wait until May for the next TGR adventure!
For the month of April, Shadow Entei will still be available to save from Giovanni! There will not be a new set of Team GO Rocket Special Research in April. If you haven’t had a chance to finish The Shadowy Threat Grows yet, now you have until the end of April.
For more information, please see our help center article.
Alolan Exeggutor and Bonus Stardust are headed our way our 7-Day Reward for Research Breakthrough during the month of April.
NOTE: This Research Breakthrough is stated to only last ONE MONTH, not 2 months as some previous ones have been.

April brings Exciting Changes
There are so many exciting things planned for how Pokémon GO is played…including a completely reworked GO Fest, according to Mr. John Hanke himself, and we cannot wait to see what is in store! Thank you all for working so hard and tirelessly for your fans!!
I’m excited for what the team is planning for Pokémon GO Fest. While we’ll miss being together in person with the community, we now have the opportunity to make it global in a big way. More soon.
