THE INTERVIEW - Papal Mandate

G2G: First, can you tell me your in-game Trainer name, level, and your favorite Pokémon? Is there a reason it is your favorite? Also, what do you do in your daily life?

PopeDave: PopeDave, Level 40. My favorite Pokémon is Gengar! A normal day in my life consists of Gaming, spending time with family, and streaming. Three things that I truly love and couldn’t live without!

G2G: What got you into Pokémon/Pokémon GO? Were you into Pokémon before GO was released? What do you like the most about Pokémon in general? Do you have a favorite feature in PoGO?

PopeDave: To be completely honest, I got into Pokémon Go because of how big it was right off the bat, and being that I was very much into mobile games, I thought it could be something I’d enjoy. I grew up playing Pokémon Blue on my Gameboy Color, but never played many more releases afterward.

Once Pokémon Go came out, however, it brought back so many memories and very quickly became an addiction. The experiences and memories are what I love the most about Pokémon, whether they are old ones back in the days of red and blue, or new ones when battling a new raid boss in Go.

My favorite feature in Pokémon Go no longer exists, unfortunately, which was the 3-step tracking. Some people may call me absolutely crazy for saying that, however, I LOVED the hunt and adventures it would lead me on when filling my Pokédex, even if I walked in circles from time to time…

G2G: What made you start uploading Pokémon GO focused Content? Was it just something you wanted to do, or is there more to it?

PopeDave: I streamed Clash of Clans previous to Pokémon Go, but was also experimenting with streaming outdoors/on the go when Pokémon Go released. It seemed like a perfect fit to begin making content for the game, and instantly fell in love with it.

G2G: You play a lot of games (Sword and Shield, Pokémon GO, and Wizards Unite to name a few) What would you consider to be your all-time favorite Game?

PopeDave: I’m not too sure I could pick an all-time favorite game. However, a few that I truly love would be Halo: Combat Evolved, Battlefield 2, World of Warcraft (Burning Crusade), and of course, Pokémon Blue. All of them bring back tons of memories, with way too many hours put into each.

G2G: If you had to pick one highlight of your time as a Streamer, what would it be?

PopeDave: The day I became Partnered with Twitch was the best moment of my streaming career. I had worked extremely hard for it and got turned down numerous times before finally getting approved.

G2G: Do you have any advice for people who want to get into Streaming or who have just started and are struggling to grow a fan base?

PopeDave: The best advice I can offer for those looking to build a community is to STAY CONSISTENT. I tell people to treat their live stream or channel similar to a TV show/channel. You know when certain shows come on, which makes it easy for people to tune back in and continue watching. Treat your stream the same way, and it will truly help!

G2G: Is there anything else you want to share? Hidden talents? Thoughts about the current state of the game? Price of tea in China?

PopeDave: The only thing people should know about me is I’m not a Pokémon master by any means. I honestly don’t even know all super effective/not very effective typings. But that’s one of my favorite parts of Pokémon, learning more and more!

Dave is another one of the content creators we had the privilege of meeting at GO Fest last year in Chicago. Despite not feeling 100%, he was gracious enough to take the time out of his hectic schedule for a meetup. We truly cannot say enough good things about Dave; he is a brilliant content creator and an even better human being. If you have’vt yet checked out any of his content, we highly recommend you do.

I haven’t been this exited in a while 😁👍

Thankfully, I managed to get my reservation early morning on July 16th.

Emails go out tomorrow for purchase finalization and shipping details!

I couldn’t imagine agreeing this is okay, and treating the player base as a statistic rather than people.

We just got off the transparency/communication/hear us Niantic boat, and here we are again.

Learn that they won’t change, and save your money. Please.
