There is one thing that rings true, no matter who you are, you would not exist without your mother. Being a mother is the hardest job on the planet. All too often the 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 day a year workload our moms take on goes massively underappreciated. Today is a celebration of their hard work, unbreakable love, and neverending mission to help us be the best we can be. We have compiled a series of shout outs, from the G2G Staff and Family of Creators to their moms. We hope all the mothers out there have the happiest Mother’s Day.
A special shout to the moms of the G2G Staff and Family of Creators, ya’ll are all superstars and deserve everything today stands for.
Mother's Day Shout Outs
I just want to take a minute on this special day to talk about my mom. A lot of you know this, some of you may not, my mom passed away on March 12 after a decade long battle with cancer. Words cannot even begin to describe how much of an amazing woman she was, but I’m going to attempt a short summary.
My mom was quietly one of the fiercest women that ever existed. She fought cancer without a single complaint for almost 10 years and for more than 9 of them she kicked its ass. Even though there were long periods during that decade were she felt terrible, she woke up every day and went to work. Didn’t complain or gripe about it. She just went to work. She wasn’t going to let cancer tell her what she could and couldn’t do. She was also a fierce mother. Even after my sister and I transitioned into being adults, she was 100% mom 100% of the time. I’m not gonna lie, it was trying at times, but now that it doesn’t happen anymore, I will also admit, I miss it immensely.
She was always there if you needed her. She wasn’t afraid to tell you if you were being an idiot. She had a way about her that made everyone like her. Even if she may not have liked you personally, she would still greet you with a smile and ask you how you were doing. She was kind of a mom to everyone. The woman did not have a mean bone in her body.
I love you mom, you may not be here anymore, but you will never be forgotten.
So take this day. Call or Zoom your mom. Tell her you love her. Thank her for giving you life. Being a mom is the hardest and most unappreciated job in the world. Every day should be Mother’s Day.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mamas out there, but especially to my Mama! I have her to thank for always putting me on the right path and supporting me in both Nursing school, and my Pokemon Go addiction. I promise when I am “pinaping swinubs” it really isn’t anything inappropriate, even though we like to tease about it!! I love you Happy Mother’s Day.
Happy Mothers’ Day to a wonderful Mom who’s supported my Pokémon journey from day one, when she bought my brother and I a second Gameboy to stop fighting over it, even if she doesn’t understand it.
Also a shout out to the wonderful ‘Moms’ of G2G: MT & MD for keeping us in line and on track. You’re both superstars.
Lastly a cheer and thank you to all PokéMoms, you’re definitely an integral part of this vast community.
Wishing a specially happy Mother’s Day to these two mothers that have inspired me to go after what I love and that support my goals and dreams. Thank you, mom and grandma, for going as far as participating in my photography and liking every photo even if you don’t understand a bit of what’s happening. I’m eternally grateful to be able to look up to you.
Happy Mother’s Day mom! In these crazy times where nothing seems quite normal, it’s been a blessing to still live at home and have you around all the time. Everybody needs a rock in their life that they know will always be there and be strong for them, and you are that rock for the 5 people with you in our house.
You do countless things and sacrifice countless hours for us as a family and little by little as us kids grow up, we’re starting to see the real extent of your sacrifices and try to give more back to you. The work you do and the time you spend making us the best people we can be is more valuable than anything else I could have around during this quarantine.
Thank you for everything that you do – making the best homemade pizza, taking me to soccer for 16 years, teaching me how to be a better person, and for showing me I wasn’t going crazy on the sudoku puzzle I couldn’t figure out. I really hope that someday I will be able to be as good of a parent as you always have been and teach my kids everything you’ve shown me. Thank you for being my rock and always loving and supporting me, and everyone you help. We all, and I, love you
